Desk Jockey
We are made to move, not sit at a desk 8-10 hours a day. As ergonomic as your desk station may be, sitting produces back pains, headaches, and listlessness. You become less productive due to these physical stressors. Not to mention less thin. The U.S. surgeon general recommends at least 30 minutes of moderate activity five days a week. Yet most Americans don’t approach this level of activity.
Do what you can to encourage yourself to move more. Start with the popular, farthest parking spot from the door and get a quick walk done, before you sit for the rest of your work day. Another trick I like to use is every hour on the hour get up and take a 10-60 second lap around the facility(use this to make yourself MORE productive not less). You will come back to your workstation more alert when you sit back down.
